LanguageCert through the viewscope: Monika Wierzanska-Villar talks about LanguageCert, the most flexible solution to English language proficiency requirements
LanguageCert, 10 March 2022
Monika Wierzanska-Villar runs the English Language Centre at Regent’s University, a private university located in Regent’s Park, London and part of the Galileo Global Education Group. Monika and her team oversee a range of different English language courses at the university, where they have chosen LanguageCert as the most flexible testing solution for English language proficiency for entry requirements. In December 2020, Monika decided to switch from in-person testing to a remotely invigilated test from LanguageCert – she tells us why.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Regent’s University candidates would fly to London to take their exams in person or take an equivalent test at a local test centre. However, the quality, accessibility and security of local English tests varied significantly from place to place, making test reliability a real problem. When Regent’s University introduced the LanguageCert International B2 Communicator Written test, it solved multiple problems at once. Monika says, “LanguageCert provides the ideal combination of access and reliability. Any candidate, anywhere and at any time can take the test, and the remote invigilation system ensures the security of the test and validity of the results.”
Monika says her university’s experience transitioning from in-person to online testing with LanguageCert has been “fantastic, and our overall experience has been very good thanks to our dedicated point of contact who has helped us at every stage. LanguageCert gave us very detailed, step-by-step instructions on what to do, and we now have a smooth and straightforward system covering every stage of the process.”
LanguageCert has made a significant difference to Regent’s University, increasing the number of candidates tested from around 40 to 100 per month. Thanks to LanguageCert, prospective candidates no longer have to wait weeks for an open test slot at a local test centre or travel to London to take their university entrance exam. They only need a laptop and an internet connection to book their online English language exam. “We can also offer LanguageCert testing slots 24/7, a real advantage for candidates living in different time zones, and we have never had an issue with test availability.
