LanguageCert, a member of the PeopleCert Group, is delighted to sponsor the 2022 Yorkshire Asian Young Achievers awards (the YAYAs) – in particular the Achievement in Education category, Yorkshire’s top awards scheme for young people of South Asian heritage aged 16-30! 
 
The awards aim to: 

• Promote social mobility among young South Asians 
• Identify role models to help inspire others from the relevant communities 
• Encourage young South Asians to seek out and take up further and higher education opportunities

The YAYAs will be presented at a gala dinner event on Friday, November 11, 2022, and will be hosted by the award-winning BBC Radio and TV presenter and stand-up comedian Noreen Khan. 
 
LanguageCert believes that Education is a fundamental Human Right and should be available and accessible to all - we couldn’t be more excited to sponsor this year’s Achievement in Education category of the YAYAs awards. 
 
Education is one of the fields where South Asian young achievers can make the most difference, both as role models and as teachers and trainers. 
 
The awards are organised by the QED Foundation, a registered charity that has been working since 1990 to improve the social and economic position of disadvantaged communities, the proceeds from the awards and event dinner will go directly towards its work. 
 
“Of Yorkshire’s more than 600,000 BME residents, the vast majority are of South Asian origin. Sadly, they continue to struggle to overcome disadvantages in making their way in the world, be that in education, employment or social mobility generally... They need role models – people who have broken through the barriers and overcome the challenges – and we know there are many dynamic, hard-working young people achieving great things across the whole county”, said Dr Mohammed Ali OBE, Chief Executive of QED.
