LanguageCert, 16 May 2023
Macmillan Education and LanguageCert have partnered to provide English language certifications for schools in Spain. The certifications, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), will help assess students' English language skills in a secure and efficient manner. LanguageCert Young Learners ESOL and LanguageCert International ESOL exams will be distributed by Macmillan Education, which collaborates with over 68,000 teachers in 10,000 schools in Spain.
LanguageCert exams offer flexibility, allowing registration up to 2 days before the exam and delivering results within a maximum of 10 working days. The partnership aims to provide certifications tailored to the needs of today's learners, to improve their future prospects in an increasingly globalised workplace.
The LanguageCert certifications will be offered to students of all ages. LanguageCert Young Learners exams are designed for children between the ages of 7 and 12, to measure their progress in the early stages of learning at Pre-A1 and A1 levels. Macmillan will also distribute LanguageCert International ESOL exams, which range from A1 to C2.
LanguageCert certifications have been developed by experts in English language assessment and are recognised globally and in Spain by ACLES (Association of Language Centres in Higher Education), CRUE (Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities) and institutions such as ICES, Correos or the Bank of Spain. LanguageCert is also recognised in the Community of Madrid, the Region of Murcia, and Castilla la Mancha, among others.
Through this partnership, Macmillan Education and LanguageCert bring together their experience and expertise in teaching and assessment, respectively, to offer 21st-century certifications with a communicative approach.
Augusto Di Marco, Managing Director of Macmillan Education Iberia, said: "Macmillan Education is very proud of this collaboration agreement with LanguageCert. English is an essential requirement for the academic and professional future of students, which will have a direct impact on society, so with this agreement we offer a fast and secure system to provide results in the shortest possible time, thus helping to meet the objectives or purposes of the students", Di Marco added.
