LanguageCert is happy to announce an upcoming 4-part webinar series entitled Energise your classroom, specially designed for teachers. The webinars introduce teachers to new perspectives and useful ideas to help them better support their students throughout the year.

All attendees will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

The four webinars are hosted by LanguageCert and moderated by Giuseppe Romagnoli, LanguageCert Brand Ambassador for Italy, and the keynote speakers are Chantelle Walsh, Teacher and Teacher trainer, and Joanna Paolinelli, Director of Economic Development and Innovation at the British School Pisa Group.

As the series will be streamed from Italy, please remember to check the equivalent hour in your time zone.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Webinar 1: Helping our students remember

Speaker: Chantelle Walsh

28 September 2022 | 16-17 GMT+1

Watch the recording

Our brains are wired to forget, so what can we do to help our students remember?

Join this webinar to explore the important connections between memorisation and motivation. Chantelle Walsh will advise how the adoption of a creative approach in the classroom can help students remember, and how little changes in the way teachers teach could create lasting results.

Webinar 2: Dyslexia and creating an inclusive environment

Speaker: Joanna Paolinelli

Watch the recording

Should we just be teaching English or also ensure that real learning can take place?

Don’t miss the opportunity to look at the challenges that students with dyslexia face and how, by giving them the right tools to bring out their strengths, we increase inclusion. Joanna Paolinelli will discuss collaborative, experiential, emotional, task-based learning and total physical response. She will also address how new technologies, such as virtual reality, can help to make the classroom a place where ALL students can learn.

Webinar 3: The English language rollercoaster

Speaker: Chantelle Walsh

16 November 2022 | 16-17 GMT+1

Watch the recording

Is what we are teaching in the classroom reflective of English as a global language?

Join Chantelle in analysing the constant evolution and changing nature of the English language as a result of social media and their place in society. Chantelle Walsh will suggest activities to expand vocabulary and lexis through the analysis of newspaper articles, film clips, and the discussion of idiomatic expressions: all in search of a new language.

Webinar 4: The Future of Language Learning

Speaker: Joanna Paolinelli

What motivates students? There will always be one word that describes the efficacy of an English lesson: excitement.

In the last webinar of the 4-part series, Joanna Paolinelli will share her thoughts on the future of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Discover how alternative new methodologies such as virtual reality can be used as a metacognitive tool that enforces the idea of learning by doing. Furthermore, explore how by engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learnt in the classroom to real-world situations. Lastly, examine how the humanistic approach to language learning enhances not only linguistic competences, but also helps develop emotionally positive attitudes in students.
