During your Exam

What do I need to do on exam day?

You MUST arrive at the Test Centre at least 30 minutes before the exam begins.
You MUST bring the same photo ID you used to book your exam.
All details (names, date of birth, ID number, nationality) on your photo ID MUST match your Candidate Profile Details as used to book your exam.
Exam instructions will be provided at the Test Centre on the day.
Ensure you read the Summary of Exam Regulation.

Do I keep my personal belongings during the exam?

You will be provided with a locker to leave your belongings while taking your exam. Bags, mobile phones and other personal items are not allowed into the exam room.

Do I take all parts of my exam on the same day?

The LanguageCert International ESOL SELT (Speaking & Listening) exam is a short session during which both skills are tested.

If you take a LanguageCert International ESOL SELT (Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking) exam or LanguageCert Academic SELT or General SELT:
when registering for your exam, you can select to take the Speaking component on the same day as the Listening, Reading, Writing component or within a period of 14 days.
The Listening, Reading and Writing section of the test are always completed immediately after each other and with no break.

Are bathroom breaks allowed during an exam?

LanguageCert ESOL SELT (Speaking & Listening):
Breaks are not allowed.

LanguageCert Academic SELT, LanguageCert General SELT, LanguageCert ESOL SELT 4-skills:
There are no planned breaks during the test, but bathroom breaks are allowed during the Reading and Writing parts. The test timer does not stop during breaks.
